Oakwood School Families,
Happy last month of the 2023 year!! Time is moving so quickly- it is hard to believe that we are almost half way through the school year. This next week will host our Literati Book Fair. The fair will be open every am before school and during the lunch hour. Every purchase supports our school! For even more fun, you can visit the fair during Books and Paint with Fire Escape Night.
-
Payment methods: We accept cash, credit and debit cards, check, or book fair gift cards.
-
Online fair: Can’t make the fair? No worries! Shop for exciting new books online at efairs.literati.com, and create student wishlists to share with friends and family. When you search for our school, double-check that you have the right city and state.
-
Book fair gift cards: Gift cards are an easy payment method that won’t get lost in a backpack. Buy them online for use at both our in-person and online fairs. Putting money on a gift card is a great way to provide funds to your child without having to send cash.
Your generosity allows us to purchase a large variety of new books for every classroom in our school. The support you provide our PTO also brings supplies and opportunities to our school.
Promoting reading and a love of reading is one of the greatest gifts you can give your child. Books your child is reading at home should be at his/her independent level, the highest level you would ask a child to read without help. They are used to build stamina, fluency, and increase their love of reading.
Just a few reminders about morning carpool. Supervised carpool begins at 7:30 AM. The first bell rings at 7:40 AM and the second bell rings at 7:45 AM. Students should be in their classrooms by the time the second bell rings. If your student arrives after this time they will be marked tardy. On rainy or really cold days staff will not be going outside. They will be at both back door entrances. Please pull all the way around to allow other parents to pull in as well. This will allow everyone to arrive at school on time and prevent the previously mentioned tardies from happening.
We want to take this opportunity to wish you and all of your families a wonderful holiday season. We look forward to 2023 and all the changes it may bring. :0)
