Happy New Year Oakwood School Families,
I hope you and your family are doing well! Semester 1 is almost complete and report cards will be on their way to your homes later this month. Please take some time to review your child's report card with your child.
Here are some questions that may help guide your conversation at home:
-
How do you think your year has been going so far?
-
What are you proud of?
-
What do you think your greatest strength as a learner is? Why do you think so?
-
What do you think is the most challenging part of your school day? Why?
-
Is there anything you want to change or improve in the second semester? How do you think you'll do it?
Make sure to celebrate your child's efforts! We are proud of all of our Oakwood learners! Each day, learners are growing in their social/emotional and academic learning! We look forward to another semester of learning and growing together.
In addition to ending the semester - students in grades 1-5 will be taking their mid-year iReady assessments. This assessment is used to plan forward and to see the growth your child(ren) have made so far this year. It is just one snapshot but it does provide some very detailed information. Those reports will be mailed home - most likely with your report cards.
Do you have questions or ideas you would like Mrs. Martin to answer/hear? Please use the form, “Ask Mrs. Martin”, to submit them to me. I will respond as soon as I can to hear your ideas or provide clarification for you.
Wishing you well,
Mrs. Susan L Martin
