Bike-to-School-Day!

On May 8th, we were supposed to be celebrating Bike-to-School-Day together. Due to Covid-19 and social distancing, we will be honoring Bike-to-School-Day as Bike-to-Anywhere-Day! I encourage you and your families to get outside and be active on your bikes with your families. Here is a resource guidebook for families throughout the East Central WI Region who are looking to learn more about bike safety and get ideas of where they can walk and ride their bikes. You can use the ideas in this guidebook to plan your event, or you can get creative with your own ideas! Feel free to  send your teacher a picture or video of your family biking on the 8th or one day this month. Happy and safe biking and remember to wear your helmets!

The Student Council helped out with two fundraisers this year. Our Oakwood Family Herd night was great fun for all families and staff who attended. We were able to raise $831, which went to our PTO to help fund future events and activities for our Oakwood family.

We also held a penny and supply drive for the Oshkosh Humane Society. We raised $506, along with many special treats (dog and cat food, toys, cleaning supplies, etc.) for all of the dogs and cats at the center. Our donations were very much appreciated. A special thanks to all of our generous Oakwood families who supported our fundraising efforts.

I would like to send a special thank you to all of our 2019-2020 student council members this school year. Your dedication was greatly appreciated on all of our projects. Best wishes to our fifth graders and I am hoping our current 4th graders will join again next year along with our incoming 4th graders. Best wishes to all of our Oakwood families!

Annual Online Registration Now Open!

Click on the above link to register your student for the upcoming 2020-2021 school year.

From the Health Office:

As we wrap up this school year, we are already looking ahead to next year.  If your student has a change in their health or has a healthcare need at school, please contact me via email over the summer and I will get back to you before the start of next school year.  If your student will need to take a medication at school, please work with your doctor to have the medication request form completed and signed before the start of the school year.  As a reminder, the directions on the medication bottle must match the written order on the medication request form. If your student needs over-the-counter medication at school, please fill out the same medication request form but only the parent signature is needed. A reminder that if your student brings over-the-counter medication, we need a new, unopened bottle at school.

If your student has a health plan or emergency plan on file with the school, you will be receiving a copy to update for 2020-2021 school year over the summer. If your child has immunizations over the summer, you can bring that information when school starts or email me a copy.

I hope you are all staying healthy and that you enjoy your summer.  Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns.
