Thursday, November 7th, is picture retake day at Oakwood. If your student is having a retake done, be sure to send their original picture packet to school with them that morning and also notify their teacher that they need a retake done. If a student forgets to bring in their original picture packet that day, the student can still get their picture taken, but the parents will be responsible to return that packet to the company before they can send you the retake pictures.
Cellphones
Students are not allowed to use their cell phones while at school. If a cell phone is visible during the school hours, it will be confiscated and kept at the office. It can then be picked up at the end of the day by the student. All cell phones must be turned off and stored in the student's backpacks. In case of an emergency, please contact the Main Office to relay important messages to your child. This is the same policy used at all schools in the Oshkosh Area School District.
Students Arriving After School Starts @ 7:45
ALL students need to be walked into school, so that the parent can sign-in their child! Thank you!
AM Car Riders Drop Off:
Drop off time is 7:30 AM. Drop off takes place along the sidewalk (indicated at Point D on the map), students will then continue walking the sidewalk and alongside the building heading out to the playground. Students should be ready to quickly hop out of the car and move along. Cars will then make the loop around the circle, please stay within the CONES. We have set up an area under the basketball hoops (marked with an E on the map) for short term parking only. This area is for parents that need to park to bring their children into school for some reason. If you need to park, you still need to go through the carpool line to get to the parking area. You may not bypass or cut across. As you exit to Omro Road, you make a right turn only and then continue on your way. All students who ride the bus are dropped off in the front of the school on Oakwood Road. NO students should be dropped off at this entrance prior to 7:45 AM. In order to reduce the large volume of cars and reduce your chances of having your children be tardy, please consider utilizing the school bus service or car pooling with other families.
PM Pick Up:
At the end of the day, students who ride the bus are delivered to their buses by their teachers and staff members.
If you are picking your child up, you will park in the back parking lot located off Omro Road. For the safety of our students, the doors to our school are NOT unlocked until 2:50 PM. The dismissal bell rings at 2:45 PM and students are released from class at that time. Students who are scheduled to be picked up will be brought to the cafeteria area to meet up with their parents or those who are picking them up. Those coming to pick up students need to come into the building to get their children.
The back parking lot is VERY congested at this time of day. Please consider having your student(s) utilize the bus system and meet your child at home.
