Oakwood School Families,

WELCOME Back to the 2023-24 School Year!!

As you are aware there have been lots of changes this summer at Oakwood.  We now have a new drop off/pick up area with parking in our back lot.  We also have a brand new health office with a restroom and a window!!  The new office area is almost completed too.  Soon we will open a new secure entry/reception area along with a new workroom, restroom, meeting area and offices.  

We also have some new faces at Oakwood- welcome to these new school family members:

Mrs. Shea Reiland is our new school nurse

Mrs. Alycia Zabel is our new nursing assistant.

Ms. Kendra Lamal will be teaching kindergarten

Ms. Emily Krier (soon to be Mrs. Emily Meyer) will be teaching Physical Education.

Attached here is our School Family Handbook.  This handbook includes lots of information about Oakwood School. Please be sure to check out the Transportation Section on page 6,  Birthday treat info on page 12, and School Safety protocols on page 17.

We are looking forward to a great school year.  My door is always open.  I would love to hear your thoughts, ideas, positives, and work through any of your concerns.

HAVE LUNCH WITH YOUR CHILD All Elementary Schools and the Food Services Department invites parents of school-age children to have lunch with their child any school day.  Please let the school office know in advance so we can make sure a lunch gets ordered for you.  You may bring money with you to pay for the meal or the adult lunch can be charged to your students Food Service Account.  

EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES IN THE SCHOOL FOOD SERVICE DEPARTMENT

The food service department is seeking individuals to work for our department serving breakfast and / or lunch. The majority of these positions available are 1.5 - 2 hours in length and are during the breakfast and lunch service time, which varies with the school.  Opportunities for longer shifts and additional hours may also be available.  Please see the WECAN at https://wecan.education.wisc.edu website for employment opportunities along with applying for positions within the Food Service Department.

Immunization and Waiver Reminder

Oakwood Families, 

It's that time of year again to make sure your child is up to date on their immunizations or to sign a waiver if you choose to opt them out. All immunizations and/or waivers are due to the health office by 10/17/2023. 

If your child is not up to date with immunizations or have a waiver form signed, you will receive a reminder letter in the mail by 9/25/2023. A second reminder letter will be sent by 10/9/2023.

If your child has an appointment scheduled after 10/17/2023 to have their immunization/s updated, a waiver form will still be required to be filled out and signed. Once your child has their immunization/s this will be updated in the system.
