WE MADE IT!!

Oakwood School Families,

      The 24-25 school year is quickly coming to a close - it feels like it just began!   For our fifth grade students it marks the end of their time as an elementary student and the beginning of their middle school years.  We will miss them here at Oakwood!  They will always be a part of our school family and if they ever need us- we are here! Once an 🦅always an 🦅!!

     A few end of the year thank yous:

• Thank you to everyone who participated in our One School One Book reading of “Because of Winn Dixie”.  
• Thank you to PTO for the donation of prizes! (see “Because of Winn Dixie” tab in this newsletter) ALL students received tickets for various classroom activities including answering questions about the book- allowing everyone to participate in the raffle.
• Thank you also to all who participated in our school book fair.  The money raised from the fair will go directly back to our One School One Book fund so that we can continue this program next year.
• Thank you to the Oakwood PTO for organizing our upcoming Movie Night!  We are looking forward to seeing all of you there!!

One more HUGE THANK YOU to the Oakwood School Staff!!   They all give their all each and every day!!

    We hope you all have a wonderful summer and get to spend lots of time together as families. Studies show that most students lose at least some knowledge that they gained during the school year over the course of summer vacation.  A little effort can go a long way when it comes to helping children avoid significant regression during the summer months. 

 Here are some ideas for you to put in place to prevent that regression from happening:

Look for educational summer camps or programs. 

Make library visits a weekly excursion. 

Make reading a daily occurrence. 

Play board games or cards with your child to keep their mathematical thinking sharp.

Practice counting up and back from various numbers, skip counting too.

      Summer is a great time for children to follow their interests and review what they learned last school year-and they can do so at a more relaxed pace. A summer learning routine doesn't have to be rigorous, and it takes just a little creativity to come up with great anti-regression activities. Get your child involved in the process, and remind your child that a little work this summer will have a great impact when he or she goes back to school in the fall.

Get Ready for the 2025-26 School Year!

The Oshkosh Area School District’s Annual Student Update (Enrollment/Registration) for returning K-12 students and for new 4K students will take place April 1 - September 1, 2025. Students must be enrolled by September 1. While the deadline is September 1, we encourage you to complete this process as soon as possible to secure your child's spot for the next school year.

Your child’s school for the 2025-2026 school year will be listed in IC. If you have recently moved or if you were involuntarily transferred due to space limitations at your home school, please be sure to check this as it may be different from where your child is currently attending. 

This annual enrollment process is mandatory, and your student's place at their school will be reserved for the upcoming academic year. You'll update your demographic and contact information through the Infinite Campus (IC) Parent Portal.

Complete the process on your computer, tablet, OR smartphone via the IC app: Campus Parent.

• Mobile Registration: To register on your smartphone, download the app from your device's app center (iPhone - App Store or Android - Google Play), or click these direct links. Be sure to select the "Campus Parent" option - look for this icon:

Online Portal Access: CLICK HERE to log in to your Infinite Campus (IC) Parent Portal and click the "Online Registration" link (located on the bottom left side of the home screen).

In-Person Support: If you need in-person assistance, access to a device, or the internet, attend our Central Registration Day at Vel Phillips Middle School on August 6, 2025. More information will be provided in the coming months.
